Fashion photography is a “dream”. It means technique but also imagination and splendour; on set fashion becomes a means for building a picture. While, during fashion shows, I watch the collections, I’m already thinking about the fashion shootings I could do; my editorials are always linked to a context, achieved thanks to artistic intuition that I developed in many years of experience: I rarely make or commission “Pure Fashion” shootings, because today I’m so far than I used to be from the trade magazines’ mentality. The readers of the paper and web magazines for which I work, are not fashion-addicted, just like me: the best thing to do is to capture their attention through a storyline, just like a movie. The picture I choose for this week is taken from a shooting by Stefan Giftthaler, one of the most visionary and fascinating photographers of last generation; thanks to Rizzoli, we have at our disposal great photographers, the most beautiful men in the world and – naturally- all the fashion we desire: I couldn’t ask for more, to realize ideas that our designers evoke to me. Venerdì 13 esce il nuovo numero di Style Magazine. In  anteprima il video backstage del servizio moda portante, scattato da Toni Thorimbert. E’ un audace volo di fantasia: abbiamo immaginato un giovanotto tanto fashion da volersi provare i vestiti più trendy della stagione. E talmente viziato (e ricco) da essere accudito, durante il fitting, da due giovani e servizievoli (e altrettanto fashion) modelle e perfino da un maggiordomo. Il video rende, solo vagamente, un’idea di quello che accade durante uno shooting di moda: sintetizzato in una manciata di secondi.

The new Style Magazine issue is coming up friday the13th. The backstage video preview of the main fashion editorial, shot by Toni Thorimbert, it’s a bold  flight of fancy. We thought about this extremely fashionable young man, who wants to try on all the trendiest looks of the season, he’s so spoiled (and rich) that he’s being looked after during the fitting by two young, caring (and also fashioable) models and even by a butler. The video gives you, in part, an idea of what is actually going on during a fashion shoot, all squeezed up in a bunch of seconds.
