Snakeskin. Edoardo Purgatori is a roman actor. He was born in 1989, from german mother and italian father (Andrea Purgatori, screenwriter and journalist). He starts his career in theatres. His debut in a tv series is in 1997, but he doesn’t give up the stage, where he acts in italian, english (The Glass Menagerie and The Shape of Things) and german. He has already acted in a dozen of movies. We’ve worked with Edoardo for several fashion shootings. He’s a sensitive, polite, determined man. He owns such a natural elegance, that he can wear a snake jacket and a pair of jeans without looking like a naff (this was the risk). But follow my advice: wear leather with finer fabrics. Not with jeans, absolutely not total leather. Unless you have the appeal of Brando (do you remember The Fugitive Kind, 1959?) or Edoardo Purgatori, indeed. Lo zaino secondo Fendi, una perfetta sintesi di moda, lusso e praticità: tricolore, in cavallino e pelliccia di capra, con tre scompartimenti chiusi con zip e tasche laterali. Free Associations. I quote the guidelines of the Gianni Versace s/s 1985 menswear collection, from the book Gianni Versace. L’abito per pensare: “Since the collection’s feature is the free matching of the garments, as in the case of the outfit shown, we give indications about the different garments and not about this specific outfit”. The matching (or styling) is one of the key strenght of a designer’s conception. Or of his fashion, when it’s represented in magazines’ shootings, and interpreted by the stylist. The combination of stripes of this tartan pattern, matched with the little contrasting polka-dots on the trousers (picture), was one of the many reference codes of Versace: geometrical prints with positive/negative effect. EMPORIO ARMANI

Standing Ovation per Emporio Armani! Tutto quel che vi piace del suo “storico”, è in questa collezione. Forme e materiali flessuosi, accessori stilosi e moderni che non fanno a pugni con il buon gusto, tessuti caldi e avvolgenti nelle classiche tinte del menswear: cammello, blu notte e grigio. Davvero Bella.

GUCCI

Cambio di rotta. Totale. Dal maschio “che non deve chiedere mai”, oggi Gucci punta su una tipologia di uomo più intellettuale e romantico. A cominciare dal casting, che fin dalla prima uscita svela gli intenti della maison. La collezione si sviluppa attraverso pezzi più tradizionali mescolati a capi di pura poesia che ammiccano – gli ultimi – ad un’identità giovane e acerba. Nella moda, tutto è stato fatto o “già fatto”; ma sono convinto che questa nuova direzione – per Gucci – sia quella giusta.

ETRO

Un ottimo lavoro di styling e il desiderio di rendere sempre più contemporaneo il prodotto – un intento evidente  già da due stagioni – fanno di questa collezione di Etro, una tra le più riuscite della storia del brand.

CANALI

Seconda stagione di Andrea Pompilio. Per l’autunno/inverno Pompilio punta anche sulla linea accessori, realizzati con coerenza secondo lo stile che ha impostato per il menswear. L’abbigliamento prevede la tinta senape come unico flash del colore. Riaffiora il segno tradizionalista del brand, soprattutto nella scelta del disegno finestrato.

FENDI

La sfilata di Fendi uomo non ha mai una vera e propria “storia”: è un sontuoso, eccezionale ensemble che fonda il suo segno di stile sulla ricchezza dei tessuti, delle lavorazioni e – naturalmente – dei pellami, sempre pregiatissimi. Questa collezione in modo particolare, è il trionfo del lusso: quello di buon gusto, però.

BRIONI

Prima sfilata del bravo Brendan Mullane, che fino ad oggi, per presentare le collezioni, ha prediletto straordinarie presentazioni standing. Il designer riconferma la leadership di Brioni nel mercato dell’abbigliamento di lusso, con un prodotto di grande bellezza, squisitamente sofisticato.
