TO THE COLOURFUL

Con la nuova stagione, anche il jet set riscopre la varietà dei colori sgargianti, da usare con parsimonia per dare più luce al proprio look. Ma la moderazione, a Hollywood, non sanno nemmeno dove stia di casa. Prendete l’attore Bradley Cooper, che quasi sempre dimostra di avere buon gusto: ma alla prima del suo ultimo blockbuster Una Notte da Leoni 3, ha azzardato un completo color arancio bruciato, per lo più accompagnato da una camicia azzurra (tralasciando, per pietà, l’acconciatura da scappato di casa che l’unico barbiere aperto che ha trovato è stato Edward Mani di Forbice). Con i colori caldi va sicuramente meglio a Will Smith che, complice la carnagione scura assieme alla sapiente scelta di una camicia bianca abbinata alla cravatta scura, valorizza l’abito rosso indossato per la presentazione del  film After Earth, in cui recita col figlio Jaden. Anche dall’altra parte della cinepresa, però, ci sono alcuni problemi con l’abuso delle tinte forti: all’ultima edizione della Los Angeles Film Fest, Pedro Almodóvar ha sfilato di fronte ai fotografi con un completo verde oliva abbinato a una polo gialloverde, balzando subito ai primi posti nelle classifiche dei peggio vestiti dell’anno passato. Il verde è comunque sempre un rischio: per approfondire l’argomento, citofonate Colin Farrell che, vuoi per rimanere fedele alle sue origini irlandesi vuoi perché il suo sogno segreto era sempre stato quello di lavorare in un vivaio, non si fa problemi a solcare il red carpet con un coraggiosissimo completo verde tundra. A completare la serie dei lavori manuali anche Samuel L. Jackson: per promuovere in Cina il suo ultimo lavoro, Captain America. The Winter Soldier, ha rivelato la sua vera anima da idraulico, con pantaloni blu, giacca denim e scarpe celesti, tutto Armani. Come indossare, dunque, colori accesi senza sembrare usciti da un catalogo impazzito del Pantone? Il segreto è come sempre dosare. Prendete Idris Elba, attore inglese che dà il volto a Mandela nel biopic Long Walk to Freedom: è perfetto nel suo lungo cappotto carta di zucchero firmato Gucci, dal momento che – saggiamente – il resto è total black. Ancora più arditi potrebbero sembrare i pantaloni dell’attore e modello Tyson Beckford, di un rosa che più acceso si vede solo a casa di Barbie: eppure il mix con giacca grigia, camicia candida e loafer borchiate nere di Louboutin crea un insieme fresco, simpatico, giovane. With the new season, the jetset rediscovers bright colours, that must be used responsibly to light the look up. But moderation, in Hollywood, is unknown. Look at Bradley Cooper, who usually proves to have good taste: but, at the premiere of his new blockbuster The Hangover 3, he dared a burnt orange suit, matched with a light blue shirt (not to mention, out of pity, his homeless hair, that maybe he had cut by Edward Scissorhands). Warm colours surely suit Will Smith that, favoured by his dark complexiond and the wise choice of white shirt and dark tie, looks handsome in the red suit worn at the premiere of the movie After Earth. But there are problems with the abuse of bright colours on the other side of the camera too: look at Pedro Almodovar, that at the last Los Angeles Film Fest wore a olive green suit matched with a yellow-green polo shirt, hitting the first places of the worst dressed charts. Green is always a risk: to analyze this topic, call Colin Farrell that, maybe to cling to his Irish roots, maybe because his secret dream has been always to work in a garden centre, has no trouble walking on the red carpet with a tundra green suit on.
