The Men Issue met Mr. Stephen Dorff during the launch of the Hogan f/w 2012 adv campaign.
Il “mondo” Hogan è vicino ad uno spirito ribelle, giovane e soprattutto senza tempo. Immagino lei si riconosca in questa attitudine, è così? oppure è il personaggio di Johnny Marco nel film della Coppola che mi ha “condizionato” ? “Quello che mi piace di Hogan e’ l’aspetto casual ma allo stesso tempo sofisticato di ogni stile associato al brand e sento che questo lato casual chic mi rappresenta. Uno stile senza tempo puo’ durare per sempre, come un buon film. Vedi, non sono poi cosi’ un ribelle!” C’è chi sostiene che la moda per l’uomo non esiste, che si possa parlare di stile, piuttosto che di moda. Lei è d’accordo? “Credo che lo stile puo’ farti sembrare diverso dagli altri, in maniere diverse: se devo andare da qualche parte vestito elegante, metto un completo e una cravatta, ma preferisco aggiungere un tocco piu’ rilassato a quello che indosso, tendo a combinare brand diversi, non mi piace avere sempre lo stesso look o seguire le mode, mi piace mischiare seguendo la mia personalita’. Penso che nella vita di tutti i giorni la gente possa sentirsi a suo agio con chi e’ veramente e quello che indossa, ognuno sa capire quello che ama davvero per se stesso o almeno, io lo so. Quindi ho uno stile piuttosto unico e so cosa mi piace vedermi addosso e penso che Hogan rappresenti perfettamente questo senso di eleganza senza stress”.
Read in english.The “world” Hogan seems to be under influence of a young rebel and timeless spirit, do you recognize yourself in this attitude or am I just being influenced by the Johnny Marco character from that Sofia Coppola’s movie? “What i like about hogan is the casualness but at the same time the sophistication of each style that comes within the brand so it’s almost a chic casual kind of feel that goes with who i am as well. a timeless style can last forever, like a great movie. you see, i’m not that rebel at the end!” Some people say that fashion for man doesn’t exist, that we can most likely talk about style.Do you agree? “I trust style can make you look different from others…in different ways: if i have to go somewhere dressed up fancy i wear a suit and tie on, but i prefer to have a sense of casualness in what i wear, i tend to layer up different brands, i don’t like to stick with one specific look or follow trends, i like to mix things up and make it more for my personality. in everyday living i think people can be comfortable with who they are and what they wear, each one of us knows what we like for ourselves, or at least i know i do. so i have a very unique sense of style and what i like to see myself in and i think hogan goes completely with that sense of distressed elegance”.
