SETTE MAGAZINE EN VOGUE SPAVALDA SEMPLICITÁ COSÌ CONTROCORRENTE
Smug simplicity so upstream. Self-confidence and accuracy doesn’t necessarily mean lack of creativity. It depends on the author, it depends on the designer, it depends on the heritage of the brand. Who, in the last Prada’s menswear collection, for f/w 2015, has seen a way to help sales, has made a big mistake. Maybe because the collection is almost totally black (and you never go wrong with black)? Maybe because there are no prints? Maybe because lines and shapes are really classic? “Very elegant. Almost uniform.” said the designer to describe – briefly – the varied sequence of, apparently very light, suits and coats, that she presented last january in Milan during the men’s fashion week. The matter is different: defining a collection like this as “commercial” means not being able to make a step forward. But Miuccia Prada has always made this step, undertaking in unique and smug way, a strategy that – on the contrary – goes upstream; she has designed a theorem based on simple garments, that, however, are irrelevant to the diktats of contemporary men’s fashion. Prada confirms itself as one of the most successful leader brands. In the pictures two looks from Prada f/w 2015 collection.
