JACKET FANTASY

Declinabile in colori, tessuti, modelli e tagli estremamente vari, la giacca è di sicuro uno dei capi d’abbigliamento maschile fra i più poliedrici, tant’è che per la stagione autunno-inverno 2013 molti stilisti si sono sbizzarriti proponendo versioni e fantasie molto elaborate. Cambiarne motivi e tonalità può rivelarsi un’opportunità efficace e più o meno stravagante per sdrammatizzare con poco sforzo le mise anche più eleganti, troppo spesso relegate alla monotonia dei soliti colori formali o del gessato. Ovvio che questa astuzia di stile sia molto gettonata fra le star della musica e del cinema. Un esempio è il musicista inglese Bryan Ferry che, nell’esibizione per celebrare i cinquant’anni del Mandarin Hotel di Hong Kong, ha voluto rinfrescare la propria immagine con una giacca a decoro floreale di Louis Vuitton, abbinata a pantaloni blu satinati. Audace ma d’effetto. Per uno che si ringiovanisce, un altro che s’invecchia: il giovane attore Ashton Kutcher, dopo aver interpretato il ruolo del fondatore di Apple nel film Jobs, ci ha preso giusto ed è stato assunto dal gigante cinese Lenovo per progettare nuovi prodotti tecnologici; da bravo perfezionista, Kutcher ha preso seriamente il nuovo incarico tanto da trasformarsi in un tipico ingegnere alla Big Bang Theory, con tanto di comodo blazer in lana blu. Col passare degli anni, anche Pierce Brosnan sembra preferire abiti la cui caratteristica principale è la comodità, pur non rinunciando a un certo fascino trasandato: paparazzato qui a Malibu, il suo look, coordinato a occhiali vintage e a una vecchia Mustang, è sicuramente retrò, anche se la giacca over-size di cotone azzurro, per non parlare dei pantaloni bianchi con mocassino marrone, fa molto pensionato al sole.

Rimanendo su una simile varietà di colori, sorprende invece in positivo l’abbigliamento di Michael B. Jordan, interprete di serie televisive come The Wire e Parenthood, che, al party GQ Men of the Year a metà novembre a Los Angeles, portava una giacca turchese ben modellata sui fianchi, messa sapientemente in risalto da camicia, pantaloni e accessori dai toni più scuri. In tema di slim fit e di elementi classici rivisitati in chiave contemporanea, chi è convinto che le giacche grigie siano adatte solo a noiosi impiegati dovrebbe chiedere consiglio a Pharrell Williams, geniale produttore di musica dance e r’n’b, fresco del successo delle recenti collaborazioni coi Daft Punk e che ultimamente è più onnipresente della Marini ai festival del cinema. Agli Innovators Awards del Wall Street Journal sfoggiava un’impeccabile mise hipster-chic (unico appunto: perché non coordinare anche le scarpe invece di optare per il blu?). Insomma, a meno che non abbiate il carattere per tentare soluzioni ardite, optare per il mix di tonalità neutre e tagli al passo coi tempi può risultare sempre efficace. Altrimenti potete sempre seguire l’esempio del rapper Kanye West, uno che ha il buon gusto e la modestia di un petroliere russo: poche settimane fa a Las Vegas, al trentatreesimo compleanno della compagna Kim Kardashian (campionessa di sobrietà pure lei), ha scelto di indossare una giacca rossa damascata che farebbe impallidire le tovaglie con cui vostra nonna imbandiva le tavole di Natale. Available in very different colours, fabrics, models and cuts, the jacket is surely one of the most versatile male garments, in fact lots of designers has proposed very elaborate models and prints in their fw 2013 collections. Changing patterns and shades could be an effective and (more or less) odd choice to downplay with little effort elegant outfits, too much tied to same old classic colours and pinstriped. For example, the english musician Bryan Ferry, at the celebration for the 50th anniversary  of the Hong Kong Mandarin Hotel, tried to refresh his appearance wearing a floral-printed jacket by Louis Vuitton, matched with satin blue trousers. Bold but impressive. For one that looks younger, one looks older: the young actor Ashton Kutcher, after his role in Jobs, has been employed by the chinese giant Lenovo for designing new technological devices; perfectionist as he is, Kutcher took this new role so seriously to transform himself in a typical engineer Big Band Theory‘s style, complete with a comfortable blazer made of blue wool. With the passage of time, even Pierce Brosnan seems to prefer comfortable clothes, without giving a certain shabby appeal up: shot by paparazzi in Malibu, his look, with vintage sunglasses and an old Mustang, is certainly retro, but the over-sized jacket made of light-blue cotton, the white trousers and the brown loafers make him look like a retiree in the sun. With the same range of colours, is on the contrary positively surprising the outfit of Michael B. Jordan, actor in tv series like The Wire and Parenthood, that, at the GQ’s Party “Men Of The Year”, last november in Los Angeles, wore a turquoise jacket well shaped on the hips, wisely enhanced by shirt, trousers and accessories in darker shades. Talking about slim fit and revisited classic elements, who thinks that grey jacket are suitable only for boring clerks should ask some advice to Pharrell Williams, brilliant producer of dance and r’n’b music, whose most recent success has been the collaboration with the Daft Punk, and who’s recently omnipresent. At the Wall Street Journal’s Innovators Awards he flaunted a flawless hipster-chic outfit (just an objection: why don’t match shoes, instead of opting for blue?). In other words, unless you have the personality to attempt inventive solutions, choosing the mix neutral shades/modern cuts can be always effective. Otherwise you can follow the example of the rapper Kanye West, who has the same good taste and modesty of a russian oilman: few weeks ago in Las Vegas, for the 33rd birthday of his girlfriend Kim Kardashian (champion of sobriety too), chose a red damasked jacket to make the tableclothes, used by our grandmas on Christmas, green with envy.
